How is a Health and Safety Audit carried out?
An audit is an independent and documented assessment of your school’s’ safety management system and process, in which it is measured against regulated criteria to identify if health and safety standards are legally compliant. It comprises of Walk-though inspection of the building and facilities. A review of all relevant health and safety documentation. Interviews with key personnel. Inspection of equipment, installations and signage. An assessment of the school’s’ fire & evacuation arrangements, training requirements etc.
The report of findings will also include a prioritised list of recommendations in order to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, Health & Safety Authority guidance and best practice. Report of findings will be supplemented with photographs.
